  • Drop cloth or tarp. Five years of compacted debris dumps out of a disassembled downspout in one fall. We catch it in a tarp, not on the homeowner's flower bed.

The Disassembly Sequence

  1. Photograph the original fastener positions. Phone camera, close-up of every screw. This is the reference for reassembly. The original installer chose those positions for a reason, usually the stud location behind the siding.
